Singapore hosts 58th meeting of ASEAN committee on sci-tech

The 58th meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Committee of Science and Technology (COST) kicked off in Singapore on Tuesday.
The three day meeting will be attended by more than 100 delegates made up of policy makers, scientists and academics. This includes 11 senior officials from the 10 member countries of ASEAN.
The meeting will discuss issues relating to the progress of science and technology development in the region based on the ASEAN Plan of Action on Science and Technology (APAST) 2007-2011.
On Tuesday's meeting, COST members will finalize their preparations for a report to be presented during the upcoming 13thASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science and Technology (13th AMMST) to be held on Nov. 6 to 7.
The 59th COST meeting will be held in Cambodia next year.
