ASEAN member countries expressed hope that more concrete plans are needed for review in the next ASEAN Committee on Women (ACW) and ACW Plus Three (ACW+3)Meetings. A Brunei daily reported here on Thursday.

The Brunei Times quoted the meetings' Chairperson Adina Othman as making the remark at the closing of the eighth Meeting of the ACW and first Meeting of the ACW+3.

Adina, who is also the director of the Community Development Department at Brunei's Culture, Youth and Sports Ministry, said the meetings were constructive with participants sharing their best practices and experiences.

Themed "Reducing Feminization of Poverty with a Right Based Approach", the meetings aimed to alleviate poverty among women.

Adina also highlighted that the incorporation of the ACW+3 into the annual meeting was a new step and all members needed to put in effort to make the Plus Three meetings more successful through an increase in mutual communication.

The next ACW and ACW + 3 Meetings are scheduled to be held in October next year in Cambodia.
