Chinese port receives whopping pleasure cruiser |

Xiamen port in Fujian Province, east china, on Saturday received a Panama-registered pleasure cruiser with 1,600 tourists from Japan, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines, according to officials of the local travel and tourism bureau. The cruiser "SuperStar Aquarius" belongs to Hong Kong Star Cruises Company, which was incorporated in 1993 and has become the world's third largest cruise operator. Built in France, the 50,760 tonne SuperStar Aquarius has a low berth passenger capacity of 1,629, 229.8 meters long and 28.5 meters wide. She has a wide range of restaurants featuring a selection of cuisine from around the world, bars, lounges, meeting facilities and swimming pools. Together with SuperStar Aquarius, vessels operating under the Star Cruises, including SuperStar Virgo, SuperStar Gemini and MegaStar Taurus, have brought a total of 1.1 million overseas tourists to Chinese ports, including Shanghai, Dalian, Ningbo, Qingdao and Haikou.
