The U.S. economy grew at an annual rate of 4 percent in the second quarter, the fastest pace in more than a year, the Commerce Department reported Thursday.

The growth in the gross domestic product, the output of goods and services produced by labor and property located in the Untied States, was stronger than the 3.4 percent rate previously estimated and followed a 0.6 percent increase in the first three months. More
