Crude oil futures climbed Monday ahead of OPEC's Tuesday production-setting meeting.
OPEC, which produces about 40 percent of the world's oil, has long been expected to hold production levels steady at the meeting.
Light, sweet crude for October delivery rose 79 cents to settle at 77.49 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
In London, October Brent crude rose 41 cents to settle at 75.48 dollars a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.
