Jordanian and Chinese officials on Tuesday discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the housing sector.
Director of the Jordanian Housing and Urban Development Corporation, Shehadeh Abu Hedeib, conferred with Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Gong Xiaosheng on Jordan's new policy in encouraging the private sector to be involved in the housing projects designed for low income groups.
Abu Hedeib told reporters that Jordan was looking forward to attracting Chinese firms to invest in housing projects in Jordan.
In June, the Jordanian government launched a project to provide all citizens with housing units at subsidized prices. Under the project, a total of 33,000 housing units will be built in a period of five years.
According to Abu Hedeib, both local private firms and international ones can take part in the project.
