U.S. stocks rose Friday on strong corporate earnings.

Oracle reported Thursday a 25 percent jump in its quarterly profit and said its software sales accelerated at the fastest pace in seven years.

Nike said Friday its quarterly profit rose by 51 percent.

Boosted by strong earnings, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 92.51 to 13,859.21.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index was up 10.46 to 1,529.21, while the Nasdaq composite index rose 21.15, or 0.80 percent, to 2,675. 44.
