Vietnam is expected to gain export turnovers of 48 billion U.S. dollars in 2007, up from 39.6 billion dollars in 2006, local newspaper Saigon Liberation reported Monday.

Major items will include garments and textiles with expected export revenues of 7.5 billion dollars, seafood 3.8 billion dollars, electronic products and their components 2.2 billion dollars, and coffee 1.5 billion dollars, the paper quoted the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade as reporting.

Vietnam earned more than 31.2 billion U.S. dollars from shipping goods abroad in the first eight months of this year, a year-on-year rise of 19.3 percent, according to the country's General Statistics Office.
