The sales of Italian car-maker Ferrari, part of local industrial group Fiat, in China are expected to increase by 20 percent year-on-year in 2008, Italian News Agency ANSA reported on Monday.

According to the marketing manager of Ferrari, Andrea Ferrari, a total of 6,000 vehicles will be made by Ferrari in 2008 and 190 of them will be destined to China.

The company will sell 150 cars in China in 2007. The buyers of the cars are mainly from Shanghai and Beijing, Ferrari said.

Ferrari sells 1,800 cars in the United States per year, Ferrari added.

The turnover generated by Ferrari stood at 423 million euros ( 592 million U.S. dollars) in the second quarter of 2007, up 8.7 percent year-on-year, according to ANSA.
