Crude-oil futures closed at a new record on Friday, as worries over energy supplies and tensions in the Middle East propelled the market to a new peak.

Crude oil for December delivery climbed 1.40 U.S. dollars to end at 91.86 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Earlier Friday, the contract rose to a new record intraday high of 92.22 dollars a barrel in electronic trading.
