The capital market stakeholders and regulators of South Asian countries will discuss the prospect of integrating the regional stock exchanges at a conference due to open on Thursday.
South Asian Federation of Exchanges (SAFE) and Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) jointly organized the second South Asian Capital Markets Conference-2008, private news agency UNB reported Wednesday.
"The conference is to integrate the stock markets of the region and introduce cross border trade," SAFE Chairman and Managing Director of Bombay Stock Exchange Limited Rajanikant Patel told a press conference here on Wednesday.
Patel said introduction of cross-border trading system would facilitate Indian companies, for example, to be listed and traded in DSE or other member stock exchanges.
"This is to bring new products and broaden choices for the investors," Patel said.
