It will probably to take more time than expected to publish the implementation guideline for China's Labor Contract Law, said Xie Liangmin, deputy director of the legal department at All-China Federation of Trade Unions, in a recent video interview with People's Daily Online.

He disclosed that it was not likely that the guideline would be issued in January, as previously expected, as new problems would need to be addressed after the law came into effect on January 1.

The Federation has given feedback on the drafted guideline; and will continue to be part of the process.
