A bridge spanning Hangzhou Bay, the world's longest sea-spanning structure, will open to traffic on May 1, 2008, a spokesman from the project's headquarters said.
The bridge, linking Haiyan in Jiaxing City to Cixi in Ningbo City in eastern China's Zhejiang Province, runs a length of 36 kilometers.
The six-lane bridge will have a speed limit of 100 km per hour. Construction began in November 2003 and ended in June 2007. It is designed to last 100 years.
