Tokyo stocks fell in the morning trading Thursday.

The key Nikkei 225 index lost 125.61 points, or 1.1 percent, to11,242.65 from Wednesday.

The Topix index on the Tokyo Stock Exchange dropped 18.41 points, or 1.7 percent, to 1,082.72.
