Macao's gaming tax exceeds $400 mln in November

Macao recorded 3.2 billion patacas (400 million U.S. dollars) in direct tax income from gaming in November 2008, according to the figures released on Wednesday by the Financial Services Bureau (DSF) of the Special Administrative Region (SAR).

The SAR's direct gaming tax income for November increased by 630 million patacas (79.7 million dollars), compared with October, the DSF said. Direct gaming tax income for the first 11 months amounted to 36.82 billion patacas (4.7 billion dollars), which was20 percent higher than the expected tax income for the whole of 2008.

For the first 11 months of this year, the SAR's total public revenues stood at 47.73 billion patacas (6.04 billion dollars), while total expenditure recorded in the same period amounted to 19 billion patacas (2.4 billion dollars), leading to the overall surplus of nearly 29 billion patacas (3.67 billion dollars) in the period.
