Chinese equities lost 0.24 percent Thursday.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index nudged down 0.24 percent, or 5.15 points to 2,133.88. The Shenzhen Component Index was down 0.1 percent, or 8 points to 7,933.51.

Losses outnumbered gains by 446 to 409 in Shanghai and 363 to 357 in Shenzhen.

Combined turnover on the two bourses stood at 108.3 billion yuan (15.84 billion U.S. dollars), shrinking from the 134.5 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
