Chinese shares closed 0.61 percenthigher in the morning session on June 29, driven by real estate and financial stocks.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index advanced by 17.83 pointsto finish at 2,946.05.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.49 percent, or 170.1 points,to a one-year high of 11,583.26 points.
