Chinese equities closed 0.32 percent higher in the morning trading session Monday, driven by brokerage shares boosted by news of the IPO of the Sichuan Expressway Company Limited, the first IPO on the Shanghai bourse after a 10-month suspension.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index advanced by 9.88 points to finish at 3,098.24.
The Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.11 percent, or 135.72 points, to 12,394.52 points.
The Hong Kong-listed Sichuan Expressway Company Ltd. planned to issue up to 500 million A-shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
