Chinese auto-maker Chery signed strategic cooperation agreements with China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) and SMC Corporation last week, in an effort to enhance over-all competitiveness.

Under the strategic cooperation agreement with Sinopec, signed on Friday, Sinopec will supply oil products to Chery for its auto research and development and production, according to the two parties.

Sinopec will also provide technical support for Chery to develop green alternative energy vehicles.

Meanwhile, service stations of Chery will recommend the use of Sinopec oil products to realize the target of China-designed and China-manufactured autos using China-produced oil products.

Earlier, Chery signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with SMC on Tuesday.

At the signing ceremony with the SMC, a world leader in pneumatic technology and provider of automation products and technology, a senior Chery executive said that Chery is seeking to form closer cooperation with suppliers worldwide to improve product quality and cut cost.
