China's leading group for science, technology and industry in national defense was praised for its outstanding contribution to the country's development on July 2, its 10th founding anniversary.
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the State Council, the cabinet, and the Central Military Commission of the CPC have sent congratulatory letters to the industrial group, which was founded in July 1999.
Defense-related science, technology and industry are important for the modernization of the country's national defense and serve as a driving force to push forward the country's economic and social development and technological advances, read the letters.
Since the establishment of the company, the group had made breakthroughs in state-of-the-art technologies and key techniques and enhanced the overall technological strength of national defense, according to the commendation letters.
The group had made remarkable achievements in technologies of manned space flight and lunar probe projects which have drawn worldwide attention, according to the letters.
The letters also praised the group's contributions to the modernization of national defense.
The letters also urged staff working in the sector of science, technology and industry for national defense to embrace innovation so as to realize a leap-forward development in the high-tech areas.
