Qianmen Street and all 103 shops set up there would open gates to the public at 11:08 am on September 28, announced the government of Chongwen District in Beijing.
On August 7, 2008, after a year of renovation, 12 local businesses that originated in the area in the past century, such as the Quanjude roast duck restaurant, Dabei Photo and the Zhangyiyuan teahouse, reopened ahead of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
In late April of this year, Swedish fashion chain H&M opened its north China flagship store on the street. Other stores such as the Spanish fashion chain Zara and the ice-cream seller Haagen-Dazs have also set up new outlets here. The contracted businesses reached 103, including 81 domestic brands and 22 multinational brands.

Qianmen Street lies in the downtown area of Beijing, China.Currently, more than 60 shops have opened their businesses. The remaining will start their businesses together with full opening of the Qianmen Street on September 28.
Meng Zhijun, head of Chongwen District's Bureau of Commerce, stated that after the full opening of the Qianmen Street, all 103 shops' annual turnover would total over one billion yuan.
