In the first five months of this year, China's enterprises above a certain scale (enterprises with minimum annual sales of 5 million yuan)in the ship industry realized a total export delivery value of 96.8 billion yuan, an increase of 25.8 percent year-on-year. The increase rate is 38.9 percentage points lower year-on-year.
Of the total, 80 billion yuan was realized in the shipbuilding sector, an increase of 35 percent year-on-year. The increase rate is 23.8 percentage points lower year-on-year.
In the first five months, there were 1,791 shipbuilding enterprises above a certain scale in China. These enterprises completed a total industrial output value of 203.3 billion yuan, an increase of 38.8 percent year-on-year. The increase rate is 18.7 percentage points lower year-on-year.
The rate of completion has maintained rapid growth, while the number of newly-undertaken ship orders has been small. The total amount of ships built in the first five months increased 61 percent year-on-year, while the number of new orders tumbled 96 percent year-on-year.
At the end of May, the number of new orders and orders in hand were continuing to drop, recording a decline of 6 percent compared to the beginning of this year.
