The World Economy Forum New Champions 2009 will be held in Dalian and will be a feast of thoughts and ideas, said Jeremy Jurgens, director of the Global Center of Developing Companies of the World Economy Forum, on September 7.
This year's Summer Davos Forum will be attended by over 1,300 political and business leaders, experts and scholars from around the world, who will participate in discussions about global economic "recovery and growth" against the backdrop of the international financial crisis. The discussions will cover the hottest topics at present, including low-carbon economy, trade protectionism, deleveraging business models and lessons from the economic downturn. The forum will comprise more than 70 symposiums and debates including a televised debate.
Mr. Jurgens added that the forum attendees are influential figures from over 90 countries and include heads of state, senior government officials, multinational CEOs, renowned experts and scholars specializing in various fields, and representatives from leading enterprises with the greatest potential for development. They will exchange ideas in the inspiring forum, and what they see and hear during the forum will influence their future decisions.
The annual meeting has invited over 60 young scientists to offer advice and suggestions on science and technology, environmental protection and green economy, as well as over 100 well-known media leaders. This will not only make the debate more acute, but also guarantee that the thoughts and ideas generated during the forum will influence more audience around the world.
