Nissan's April-December net profit falls 9% |

Nissan Motor Co. said Friday its group net profit declined 9 percent from a year earlier to 344.64 billion yen (about 3.25 billion U.S. dollars) in the April-December period of 2007, the first nine months of this fiscal year.
The corporation's net profit slumped despite the increase of its group operating profit, which posted a year on year rise of 8.9 percent to 579.08 billion yen (about 5.46 billion dollars) in the same period.
The major international automaker's sales in domestic and overseas markets climbed 13.9 percent to 7.83 trillion yen (about 73.87 billion dollars) in the nine months.
The corporation said it is still confident that its group operating profit will rise 3.0 percent to 800 billion yen and its group net profit will be up 4.2 percent to 480 billion yen in the current fiscal year through March 31 as previously estimated in last October. Source:Xinhua
