The South Korean economy is showing more signs of inflation due to hikes in oil prices and service charges, a report by the South Korean Finance Ministry said on Monday.
According to the report, the consumer price growth in January rose to a 40-month high of 3.9 percent due to increase in oil-related products and in public and other private service fees.
Consumer prices hikes are showing signs of expansion, despite an improvement in private spending and exports, it said.
The ministry said it will closely monitor the latest movements of the global economy since oil price movements and global inflationary pressure remains. Source: Xinhua
