The U.S. dollar edged higher against the yen in Tokyo late Tuesday.
At 5 p.m., the dollar traded at 97.60-62 yen, against Monday's 5 p.m. quotes of 97.28-38 yen in New York and 97.36-39 yen in Tokyo.
The dollar moved between 96.86 yen and 97.64 yen, changing hands most frequently at 97.20 yen.
The euro was quoted at 1.5753-5756 dollars and 153.76-80 yen against late Monday's quotes of 1.5725-5735 dollars and 153.04-14 yen in New York, and 1.5763-5766 dollars and 153.50-54 yen in Tokyo.
