South Korea posted a trade deficit of 670 million U.S. dollars in March due to increasing crude oil price, said the Ministry of Knowledge Economy on Tuesday.

It was the fourth straight month that South Korea posts trade deficit since last December.

The country's trade deficit stood at 3.79 billion U.S. dollars and 1.25 billion U.S. dollars separately in January and February.

The exports in March rose 19.1 percent year-on-year to 36.20 billion U.S. dollars, while imports shot up 25.9 percent to a record 36.87 billion U.S. dollars last month, the ministry said.
