Dollar hits 8-week high vs. yen in Tokyo

The U.S. dollar rose to an eight-week high Friday in Tokyo.

At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 104.70-72 yen against Thursday's 5 p.m. quotes of 104.20-30 yen in New York and 103.69-72 yen in Tokyo.

It moved between 104.07 yen and 104.74 yen during the day, trading most frequently at 104.33 yen.

The euro was quoted at 1.5581-5584 dollars and 163.15-19 yen against 1.5678-5688 dollars and 163.45-55 yen in New York and 1.5837-5840 dollars and 164.25-29 yen in Tokyo late Thursday.
