The Singapore government has launched a website advertising food stalls that offer cheap meals as the country is facing three-decade high consumer prices, newspaper reported on Monday.
English language daily The Straits Times said that Singapore's Minister of State for Trade and Industry Lee Yi Shyan Saturday launched a website (http://ekampong.com.sg/) which "tells people where they can find cheap, tasty food."
The website lists more than 20 eateries selling meals for 2 Singapore dollars (about 1.48 U.S. dollars) or less.
Singapore's inflation rose to a 26-year high of 6.7 percent in March from a year ago.
The government's forecast for inflation this year ranges between 4.5 percent and 5.5 percent, and it does not expect inflation to come back below 6.5 percent in the first half before easing in the second half. Source: Xinhua
