The U.S. dollar slipped back to the upper 104 yen level Thursday in Tokyo.

At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 104.80-83 yen against 105.00-10 yen in New York and 105.14-17 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

It moved between 104.57 yen and 105.30 yen during the day, a fresh high in Tokyo since Feb. 29. It changed hands most frequently at 105.27 yen.

The euro traded at 1.5521-5524 dollars and 162.69-73 yen, compared with late Wednesday's quotes of 1.5471-5481 dollars and 162.45-55 yen in New York and 1.5413-5416 dollars and 162.08-12 yen in Tokyo.
