South Korea's consumer confidence index dropped to 92.2 in May, the lowest in more than 3 years, a report by the South Korea National Statistical Office showed Monday.
The report said the index measuring consumer confidence in the economy and living conditions for the next six months dropped to 92.2 in May, 8.2 points lower than the figure in April, as the concerns over an economic slowdown deepen.
A consumer confidence index below 100 means more people are pessimistic about future economy and according to the report, the figure has reached the lowest since 86.5 in December 2004. Source: Xinhua
