South Korea's jobless rate declined to 3 percent in May, 0.2 percent lower than that of April, the report by Korea National Statistical Office (NSO) showed Wednesday.
However, job growth remained stagnant as companies were reluctant to employ new workers due to the high level of economic uncertainty, the report said.
According to the report, 23.93 million were employed as of the end of May, with the economy adding 181,000 new jobs to payrolls compared with a year earlier. The growth slowed down from a 191,000 advance in April and is far less than the government's target of creating 350,000 more jobs. Source: Xinhua
