Tokyo stocks rose in morning trading on Monday.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average went up 45.04 points, or 0.33 percent, from Friday to 13,589.40.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange advanced 8.92 points, or 0.68 percent, to 1,329.60.
