South Korea posted a trade deficit of284 million U.S. dollars in June, a government report showed Tuesday.
According to a monthly report by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the country's exports rose 17 percent year-on-year to 37.43 billion U.S. dollars while imports soared 32.3 percent to 37.71billion U.S. dollars in June.
For the first half, exports grew 20.5 percent annually to 214.08 billion U.S. dollars with imports shooting up 29.1 percent to 219.79 billion U.S. dollars for a trade deficit of 5.71 billion U.S. dollars, it said.
