At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 212.21 points, or 1.68 percent, to 12,878.25 from Friday. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 22.99 points, or 1.89 percent, to 1,239.41.
