Daihatsu on Monday launched a new minicar model of the Move Conte in Japan in response to the mounting demand for fuel-efficient cars amid soaring fuel gasoline prices.

The minivehicle with a 660 cc engine is priced at somewhere between 1,039,500 yen (9,500 U.S. dollars) and 1,674,750 yen (15,220 dollars), according to the company.

And Daihatsu aims to sell 4,000 units a month.
