Tokyo stocks fell Friday, with the key Nikkei index closing below the 11,000 level for the first time since May 2005.
The benchmark Nikkei-225 Stock Average lost 216.62 points, or 1.94 percent, from Thursday to 10,938.14.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 29.00 points, or 2.69 percent, to 1,047.97. Source:Xinhua
