Tokyo stock markets briefly dived more than 6 percent Monday afternoon after falling below its lowest close since early November 1982 earlier in the day.
At 14:14, the 225-issue Nikkei index went down 507.81 or 6.64 percent to 7,141.27.
The Nikkei fell to the 7,500 level at the outset of trading. However, it briefly jumped 3 percent in the morning. It ended morning session with Nikkei up 30.42 points, or 0.40 percent. Source: Xinhua
