Dollar at upper 98 yen in Tokyo |

The U.S. dollar stood at the upper 98 yen level early Friday in Tokyo.
The dollar traded at 98.77-82 yen at 9 a.m., up from 98.52-62 yen in New York and 98.74-76 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday.
The euro was quoted at 1.2865-2870 dollars and 127.05-10 yen, compared with 1.2910-2920 dollars and 127.25-35 yen in New York and 1.3211-3212 dollars and 130.45-49 yen in Tokyo late Thursday.
