The Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said on Friday his government's tax review will deliver comprehensive tax reform for small business.

Small business has called on the government to slash the vast number of business taxes to head off the financial crisis, News Ltd reports.

Rudd said tax reform was needed but must be done systematically through the Henry tax review.

"We believe the taxation system ... (which) affects small business in complexity and detail, is just right over the top," Rudd told the Fairfax Radio Network.

"That (tax reform) includes business tax and those taxes which affect small business ... but that's got to be done systematically," he said.
