The U.S. dollar edges down to the upper 97 yen level Tuesday morning in Tokyo.

The dollar traded at 97.80-85 yen at midday, compared with 97.97-98.07 yen in New York and 99.12-13 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday.

The euro was quoted at 1.2727-2732 dollars and 124.53-58 yen, against 1.2743-2753 dollars and 125.01-125.11 yen in New York and 1.2820-2821 dollars and 127.07-11 yen in Tokyo late Monday.
