South Korea plans to kick off negotiations with Peru over their free trade agreement (FTA) next year, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported on Friday.
South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, who is conducting a state visit in Peru, will discuss the bilateral FTA with his Peruvian counterpart Alan Garcia during their summit on Friday, Yonhap said.
The FTA talks are expected to kick off in the first half, it said.
Lee and Garcia are expected to talk about comprehensive cooperative relations between the two nations, including natural resource development and the conclusion of a dual taxation prevention accord, Yonhap quoted an unnamed South Korean official as saying.
