Visiting South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and New Zealand Prime Minister JohnKey announced in Auckland on Tuesday that the two countries will launch bilateral free trade agreement negotiations.

The two leaders made the announcement at a press conference following their talks.

The South Korean President arrived in Auckland on Tuesday morning to begin a 24-hour visit to New Zealand.

New Zealand is the first leg of the South Korean president's three-nation tour which will also take him to Australia and Indonesia. He will fly to Sydney on Wednesday morning.
