South Korea's top electronics company Samsung Electronics Co. came in as the global top TV seller in thefirst quarter of 2009 for the 13 consecutive quarter, a market researcher said Wednesday.
Samsung Electronics took up 21.5 percent of the market share in terms of U.S. dollar-based revenue in the January-March period, according to Display Search.
In terms of units sold, Samsung held a 17.2 percent stake of the market with sales of around 7.45 million TVs.
Samsung has stayed as the top of the global TV maker since the first quarter of 2006.
Meanwhile, South Korea's LG Electronics Co. grasped 13.3 percent of the stake, returning to the second rank for the first time since the second quarter of 2007, while Japan's Sony fell to the third with 13.1 percent, according to the researcher.
