Business sentiment in South Korea made a slight fall for June as uncertainties for the real economy still lingers amid the prolonged global slump, an industry survey said Thursday.
The monthly business sentiment index, an indicator of companies' outlook for the coming month, hit 100.2 for June, down from 103.8 for May, according to the survey by Federation of Korean Industries, the nation's top business lobby group.
Although the figure for June marked a fall, it was the second consecutive month to record a reading above 100, which means optimistic views beat pessimistic outlooks, the group said.
"The slight decline for the June index showed uncertainties still remain in the real economy," the lobby group was quoted as saying by South Korea's Yonhap News Agency.
