CPI of Vietnam expected to be up 10.27% year-on-year

Vietnam's consumer price index (CPI) in the first six months of this year is expected to increase 10.27 percent year-on-year, according to a report of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam on June 25.

Among ten groups of goods and services used to calculate the CPI in Vietnam, eating outside which belongs to the group of food and foodstuff in the first half is estimated to see the highest increase by 21.04 percent year-on-year, said the report.

Following is food and foodstuff with a year-on-year increase of 15.22 percent and 12.68 percent, respectively.

The group of household appliances and goods like fans and air-conditioners is estimated to increase by 10.88 percent.

The National Assembly of Vietnam earlier this month agreed to lower this year's CPI to below ten percent from the previous 15 percent.
