The governments of Thailand and Angola have both expressed interest in cooperation in energy sector, Angola's official news agency ANGOP reported on Wednesday.
Visiting Thai Deputy General Director of the Energy Ministry Songpope Polachan was quoted by ANGOP as saying that Thailand intends to cooperate with Angolan in carrying out cooperative projects in the area of renewable energy.
After meeting with Kiala Pierre, the director of the International Interchange of the Angolan Ministry of Energy, the Thai official said the two sides have discussed and identified business and investment opportunities in Angola's energy sector, with the focus on the development of renewable energy.
"We want to invest and transmit our experience to Angola in the field of renewable energy, such as production of bio-diesel, bio-grease and bio-gas to supply mainly the rural areas," he said.
Meanwhile, the Angolan official reiterated that the Angolan Ministry of Energy is interested in cooperating with any nations that help Angola develop its electric sector.
