South Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Yu Myung-hwan on Tuesday will meet with his New Zealand counterpart Murray McCully to discuss issues concerning a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) and cooperation on other global issues.
According to local media, McCully will hold talks with Yu before a luncheon meeting, which will mainly focus on the FTA issues.
But the two ministers will not reach any concrete agreement on the issue, the foreign ministry officials noted, adding that trade officials from both sides are expected to meet soon to discuss details about the negotiations.
The two ministers will also discuss the nuclear program of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and its recent military moves, reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan, recent situation in Pakistan, and the upcoming Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Singapore next month.
McCully is also scheduled to meet South Korea's Unification Minister Hyun In-taek on Tuesday afternoon, media said.
McCully arrived in Seoul on Monday for a two-day visit.
