The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) praised Chile's economy in a report published on Monday, but called on the nation to boost education.
Chile has a strong economy and inflation remains low despite recent spikes, it said.
"Although Chilean students' academic achievements compare favorably with other Latin American nations, they remain below average for the OECD," said the report.
The OECD urged more aid be given to disadvantaged students and better training for teachers and headmasters. A boost in education is needed to improve the economy, it said.
It also called on Chile to increase employment among women, saying that the move would help long-term economic growth and poverty reduction. Source: Xinhua
