Crude futures dropped more than 9 U.S. dollars on Tuesday morning as the market worried that the weak U.S. economy would hurt the global demand for crude.

Light, sweet crude for August delivery fell 7.50 dollars to 137.68 dollars as of 11:32 EST (1532 GMT) on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Price tumbled to as low as 135.92 dollars a barrel in the earlier trading, 9.26 dollars down from previous settlement.
